What is Officials Academy?
Officials Academy is an online training platform that teaches the basic fundamentals of basketball officiating. Our interactive lessons and easy-to-follow courses allow anyone looking to become a basketball official to gain a complete understanding of the game and how it’s officiated.

How can I sign up for courses?
You can subscribe to one of our membership options; 2-Person, 3-Person, or our Combo Package which will allow you to access the courses you want to learn from. Every course includes all of the information you need to learn about 2-person and 3-person officiating.

What sports and courses are offered?
Currently, Officials Academy offers online courses for two different kinds of basketball officiating: 2-Person and 3-Person officiating. Both of these courses can be purchased as part of our Combo Package.

How do the Officials Academy lessons work?
Each Officials Academy course consists of several suggested phases which animate NFHS
mechanics then recommend going to a basketball court and replicating those
mechanics. Users learn about positioning, posture, movement, what they should be
focused on and why.

Are online courses better?
Yes! Studies have shown that watching visually animated mechanics as opposed to reading text-based lessons result in a better understanding of basketball officiating. Our courses speed up the process of learning about officiating without compromising on the amount of information presented.
